This position is responsible for aiding in the maintenance of all transportation equipment. 

1. Act as the lead person in the maintenance garage, overseeing all Omni Technicians
2. Perform Class 8 maintenance on diesel equipment, i.e. preventive maintenance, brake work, and DOT inspections
3. Responsible for driving a service truck to OmniSource drivers’ locations and fix break down issues
4. Communicate effectively with the fleet to understand the maintenance needs to ensure all equipment is safe and up to DOT standards
5. Adhere and enforce all safety rules

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Proficient in diesel electronic software.
3. A valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
4. Minimum of 8-10 years in Class 8 truck maintenance experience.
5. Must be able pass a DOT physical
6. One to three years as a lead technician
7. One to three years in a leadership position
8. Welding experience is a plus.
9. Excellent leadership qualities with that ability to motivate others.
10. Good written and verbal communication skills.
11. Computer experience, including Microsoft Office.
12. Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
