We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team for the position of Vehicle De-Pollution Mechanic.  In this role you will process incoming scrapped vehicles by properly removing hazardous chemicals or components prior to being sent to the shredder operation.

• Unload inbound loads of scrap vehicles

• Verify VINs and shipping paperwork

• Take pictures of loads

• Fill out vehicle destruction reports

• Remove and dispose of all liquids and refrigerants in storage containers

• Remove standard vehicle, EV lithium whole vehicle, and hybrid batteries

• Properly store, palletize, and band all batteries for shipping

• Operate forklift to unload and prep vehicles for destruction

• Clean and maintain work area

• • Effective communication skills

  • Good judgment

  • Attention to detail

  • Knowledge of general vehicle/car maintenance

  Preferred:

  • High school education or equivalent

  • Ability to operate forklift, skid steer, and/or heavy machinery

  • General trailer maintenance background
