Supervises and coordinates shredder production and maintenance. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • 35% - Daily supervision of shredder employees
    • Monitor attendance of employees
    • Issue disciplinary action and employee counseling
    • Plan production scheduling and staffing requirements
    • Responsible for ensuring staff is up to date on equipment and safety training
    • Address employee issues as they arise
    • Train new employees
  • 45% - Ensure operation of shredder
    • Operate shredder, perform preparations for start-up and shut down
    • Responsible for maintaining equipment, grounds, and building
    • Perform maintenance on shredder as needed
  • 10% - Handling processing of paperwork in a timely manner
    • Shredder production logs
    • Daily pre-op sheets for equipment
  • 10% - Inventory
    • Maintain target inventory turns
    • Ensure spare parts are maintained at an appropriate level

Qualifications

Required

  • 5 Years in shredder operations and maintenance or equivalent of both.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to frequently work with heights.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to positively interact with employees and management and complete paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Strong computer and typing skills (working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Ability to establish priorities and multitask.
  • Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner with attention to detail.
  • Must be highly self-motivated.
  • A clear understanding of and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Team player dedicated to the organization and its employees.
  • Advanced problem solving skills.
  • Hands on mechanical-heavy equipment skills.

Preferred

  • Some college or Millwright experience
  • 3+ years Supervisor experience.
