Overview

This role will provide technical support and leadership to the NF maintenance team, while keeping safety as our most important value.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and support all Take Control of Safety initiatives, improvements and implementation to a World Class level. Ensure compliance in safety, environmental, and personnel issues that may arise.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance program for Plant 2 NF, HMD, Taylor St Granulator, Taylor St Stainless, and Vicksburg Pike Granulator utilizing Omni personnel and outside contractors.
  • Implement and monitor TCOS safety program and compliance of safety rules for Omni maintenance employees and outside contractors.  Also, continually work to identify and resolve any safety related repairs within the facilities.
  • Develop yearly equipment operating budget and work with Plant managers and Maintenance Supervisors to develop an ongoing plan for major equipment repairs and replacement of obsolete equipment. This includes evaluating current equipment and making recommendations for new equipment.
  • Work with safety manager to ensure that all maintenance staff are up to date with equipment operation training and safety training.
  • Work with Plant managers and supervisors in planning maintenance repairs and seeing that production goals are met.
  • Manage all emergency breakdowns and oversee repairs needed by all parties, and monitor work performed by outside contractors and evaluate completed repairs.
  • Work with MRO / JDE software to track ongoing repair costs and use this information to eliminate repetitive repairs.
  • Work with Human Resources to manage all disciplinary issues within department.
  • Work with Maintenance Supervisors to plan and schedule all major equipment rebuilds through including staging of needed parts and seeing the rebuilds are completed on time and within budget.  This includes scheduling of outside contractors and working with operations to schedule needed downtime of equipment.
  • All other duties as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Knowledge of conveyors and drives.
  • Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Possess a high degree of knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulics, processing equipment and mobile equipment.
  • Possess a high degree on knowledge working with PLC’s, soft start and VFD drives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and MRO software is a plus.
  • Excellent team building, problem solving, organizational & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make quick decisions in an ever changing fast paced work environment.
  • Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate, train, and develop others.
  • Commitment to safety through actions and behaviors; enforce safety procedures and requirements.
  • Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner with attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks at once.
